What is Aikido?
The "Path of harmony with Nature", Aikido is a martial art dedicated to
the embodiment of non-resistance and non-violence. The Do of Aikido is
the Japanese term for the Chinese Tao and translates as path or the
Way. Both languages use the same ideogram: a head nestled in a foot. It
shows that to follow a path, we need our mind's attention to see the
path and our feet to walk it. In Asia the bodymind connection of modern
somatics is ancient wisdom.
